You’ll Drink More Water If It Tastes Better!

Are you getting enough H20?  When it’s very hot out, or you’ve been exercising and sweating you need to up your water intake.  So how much do you need?

From Healthy Living:  The Institute of Medicine recommends women get 91 ounces of total water (men need a bit more: 125 ounces), which is about three cups more than the conventional wisdom of eight glasses a day, but that water doesn’t have to all be gulped from a water bottle or glass.

Many foods and other beverages also contain water, like fruits and vegetables. Watermelon and lettuce have a large amount of water in them.  If you dislike drinking water, ask yourself if it tastes or looks like an unappetizing drink.  If so, have your tap water tested with a free water analysis and think about getting a whole house water filter.

Sometimes you may become bored with just water, and would much prefer a more interesting beverage.  If that’s the case, enjoy some of the ideas we’ve collected below to perk up your filtered water:

Limes, Mint, Oranges, Blueberries, Raspberries and Strawberries

Mixed Citrus, Raspberry Lime, Watermelon Rosemary, Blackberry Sage, Pineapple Mint

Raspberry, Oranges, Lemons & Limes

Instructions:  For any of these recipes just use 1/2 cup of fruit, and 1 pinch or 1 sprig of your herb

Prep Time: 5 minutes Makes six 10-ounce servings of fruit infused water
